An absolute honour to work together with Sacha Verheij on the artworks for her beautiful research and spoken word project “Wearing My Roots.”
The EP and audio story take the listener on a journey through Sacha’s family history, her search for identity, and the act of bringing her Dutch-Moluccan-Surinamese roots from the shadows into the light.
Through spoken word and intimate interviews with her family, Sacha weaves a deeply personal and historical narrative, adding underrepresented voices to the archive of Dutch colonial history.
